Gowins -- Mary Susan Gowins, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away unexpectedly April 8, 1999. She was born July 23, 1943 in Dallas, TX to Col. and Mrs. Harry Gowins. Susan was an Air Force"Brat" living in Thailand, Japan, and San Bernadino, CA before her father retired in Albuquerque from the Air Force in 1966. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Cobb and husband, Jake of Dallas, TX; nephew, Rick Cobb of Kent, WA; nieces, Jennifer Cobb of Seattle, WA and Randee Farquar of Shady Shores, TX; many cousins in Dallas; her Albuquerque"family", James Crites and wife, Sue; niece, Heather, Jennifer and Megan Crites; nephew, Aaron Crites; Brooke and B.J. Ward and Courtney Crites; and her four loveable cats. Susan loved Albuquerque and the friends she made here. She was a sweet, caring and generous lady who will be missed by many. Susan, we love you. A memorial service will be held at Oasis Family Church, 3800 Lomas NE, Albuquerque, NM, on Wednesday, April 14, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Linda Kimbrough-Dyer officiating. Arrangements for cremation were made by Sunrise Society of NM, 891-8200.
