Dyer -- George Dyer, 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1945, died Saturday, April 10, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Myrtle Dyer of the family home; son, Robert D. Dyer of Sandia Park; daughter, Wilma Kay Dyer of Albuquerque; grandsons, Zachary Robert Dyer of Sandia Park, and Andrew Alan Dyer of Albuquerque; brothers, Lawrence Dyer and wife, Audrey of Albuquerque and Albert Dyer and wife, Kathleen of Carthage, MO; sister, Helen Griggs of Carthage, MO; many loving nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Sally Dyer and Georgia May Anderson, both of Albuquerque. Mr. Dyer, a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Army, moved to Albuquerque in 1945. Mr. Dyer worked in automotive parts and retail sales until opening Dyer Paint Company in 1962. He was a member of the Lobo Club, the Masonic Blue Lodge and Sertoma Club. Services will be held Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. at French Mortuary, University Blvd Chapel, 1111 University Blvd NE with Rev. Lynne Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lawrence Dyer, Albert Dyer, Robert Dyer, Zachary Dyer, Earl Crist and George McCarty. Honorary Pallbearers will be Andrew Dyer and William Oscar Jordan. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Tuesday, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association of New Mexico, 525 San Pedro, NE #101, 87108.
