Sanchez -- Rev. Joseph Eloy Sanchez entered into eternal life Wednesday, November 24. Born June 7, 1927 in Albuquerque. Ordained June 15, 1960. Survived by his sister, Audrey Sanchez of Albuquerque. Before studying for the priesthood, he served two years in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII. After the war, attended Loyola University in New Orleans and Spring Hill College, Mobile, AL. Graduated from St. Louis University School of Divinity with an STL degree in theology. He later received a MA degree in theology from the University of San Francisco. Father served at Sacred Heart Church, St. Thomas More, and Holy Angels' parishes. Since 1980, his ministry was devoted exclusively to the sick and aged at San Francisco General Hospital and St. Anne's Home, where he served as Chaplin for the past ten years. Father is very much appreciated by the Little Sisters for his understanding of the elderly and suffering. Memorial services will be at Our Lady of Belen Church, Saturday, December 4 at 12:00 noon.
