Moore -- Robert D. Moore, 82, born June 23, 1917 in Springfield, MO, passed away Monday, November 29, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Velda of the family home; son, Christopher Moore; daughter, Barbara Holaday and husband, Steve, all of Springfield, MO; brother, Bill Moore and wife, Norma of Kansas City, MO; daughters, Joan Chavez, Sue Philips, Donna Stromei and Judy Martin; grandsons, Glen Hamill, Tommy Holaday, Tom D. Stromei, Don Martin and Keith Martin; granddaughters, Miranda Holaday and Shannon Stromei; and great-grandson, Dalton Stromei. Bob served in the South Pacific during World War II. After over thirty years of service, he retired from the U.S. Justice Dept., then in 1976, he moved to Belen from El Paso, TX. Bob was a kind and giving man, a friend to all, and he will be missed. He was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Veterans of Foreign Wars, National Rifle Association, Belen Shooting Club, and New Mexico Gun Collectors. He volunteered as a tax preparer for the Valencia County Senior Citizens for 12 years. Services will be held Thursday, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Brother Boyd Morerod and Brother R.A. Long officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Tom L. Stromei, Donald Walker, Tom Nicholson, Tom Corpe, Jim Martinez and Buddy Lewis. Honorary pallbearers will be the Senior Mens Sunday School Class for First Baptist church, Belen. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
