Martinez -- Aurora Martinez, a resident of Valencia, passed away on December 1, 1999. Aurora retired from the Los Lunas Hospital and Training School. She was a member of the Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church. She also worked with the Foster Grandparents until 1992. Aurora's greatest pleasure was cooking and having her family over for Sunday morning breakfasts. Her greatest pride was her family and grandchildren. Aurora was known to her children as"Grandma Tinez". She was preceded in death by her husband, Eufracio Martinez; one son, Charlie Martinez; and three grandchildren, Julie Sandoval, Danny Marquez and Nadine Martinez. Aurora is survived by her children, Silverio Martinez of Ashdown, AR, Mary Lou and her husband, Fermin Chavez of Espanola, Mayme and her husband, Luz Gonzales of Hobbs, Dolores Marquez and her husband, Frank, Geraldine Martinez and her husband, Nat of Los Lunas; daughter-in-law, Hazel Martinez of Pontiac, MI; 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Allan Chavez, Bart Sandoval, Gordon and Joseph, Raymond Charles Martinez, Leroy Marquez, Phillip and Carlos Martinez. All grandchildren will be honorary pallbearers. A Rosary will be held Thursday, 7:00 p.m., at the Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church in Valencia. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, 10:00 a.m., also at the Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church, with interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery. Romero Funeral Home, 609 N. Main St., Belen, NM.
