Jaramillo -- In loving memory of my wife of 66 years, Jennie B. Jaramillo, died on February 24, 1999. The Sandias (An excerpt from her booklet, "Mere Thoughts in Rhymes")When winter comes with flurry snows, Jack Frost bites our ears and nose, Sandia Mountains arrays anew In pinkish watermelon hue.Early spring her color dyes, Borrows tints from rainbow in the skies, But in the fall delights to wear Red-yellow aspens in her hair.Changing moods surely there are: Sometimes she's blue, and oh, so far, But when snow covers her by night, She rises up in bridal white. The lovely mountain is demure; Of course, I've never been too sure- But could it be our thoughts in ink Make her change to blushing pink?My wife and I enjoyed picnics, tramway rides, ski lifts, and hiking down the La Luz Trail, as well as many sight-seeking car trips to the summit on the Eastern side. I MISS YOU SWEETHEART, PROSPERO
