Pickard -- Eula Pickard, beloved wife, mom, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, went home to be with the Lord on September 2, 2000. Survivors include her son, Griff and wife, Katy of Santa Fe and Michael of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Michael and Vicki Marra of Albuquerque, Griffin and Jeni Pickard of Laguna Hills, CA, and Juliette and Jeff Watson of Albuquerque; great-grandsons, Nathaniel and Lucas Watson. Other survivors include her sisters, Elsie Keys, Juanita Stone, Tera Burt, R-Ella Mountain; brother, Jessie Pullen; niece, Judy and husband, Lloyd Strosneider; great-nieces, Jenny and Ryley Farrell; nephew, Phil Pickard and her longtime companion, Leigh Wright; many dear friends, including Richard Rede, Eileen Montoya, her caregiver, as well as many great-nieces, nephews, half-sisters, and sister-in-law, Helen Lackner. Eula was born in Malone, Alabama on November 2, 1916. She and her devoted husband,"Pick", who preceded her in death, lived in Albuquerque for many years. Pick worked for Sandia Labs and later they owned Pick's Sandwich Shop on Wyoming. Eula will be remembered for her deep faith, sunny disposition, tremendous courage and adorable sense of humor. She was truly devoted to her family and friends, and to her Lord. She was an amazing example of cheerful suffering during her long illness. She will be greatly missed, but leaves a beautiful legacy for us to follow. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church for over 40 years and an avid gardener and lovely seamstress. Services will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2000, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE 87109, with Pastor Charles Boswell officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Casa Esperanza, Home away from home for Cancer patients, 1005 Yale Blvd. NE 87106, Presbyterian Hospice, 8300 Constitution NE 87110, or Central United Methodist Church, 1615 Copper Ave. NE 87106.
