Taylor -- Georgeanna Taylor passed away April 3, 2000 in an Alice, Texas nursing home. She was 90. Mrs. Taylor was born June 19, 1909 in Tecumsey, Michigan to George and Lucy Page. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Freer. She was a former Cub Scout Den Mother, a member of the AARP, and the Triple L. Club. She was active in the nursing home ministry of the First Baptist Church in Freer, and the oldest member of the Purple Sage Square Dance Club in Freer. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Keller O. Brown in 1958 and by George W. Taylor in 1982; also by two daughters, Jeanette Harp and Lucy Brown; one son, George W. Brown Jr.; and one granddaughter, Georgeanna Howder. Survivors include one daughter, Nancy (Gerald) Black of Freer; one son, Leonard Austin (Linda) Brown of Escondido, CA; 14 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and 32 great-great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 10, 2000 in Sunset memorial Park with Pastor Brian E. Davis, Ph.D. of Parkview Baptist Church officiating. Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE, in charge of arrangements.
