Crichton -- George Kilpatrick Crichton Jr. passed away April 1, 2000 at the age of 75. Graduated high school, Herrin, Illinois. Entered Naval Pilot training, 1943. Graduated University of Illinois, 1950. Graduated Washington University Law School, 1954. Admitted to the Bar both in Missouri and in Illinois. He moved to New Mexico in 1957 and worked in the Insurance Claims field before entering service with the Veterans Administration. He retired in 1994. He was a member of Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity, a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite in Santa Fe and Ballut Abyad Temple in Albuquerque serving on the Azayim committee. He was a past Associate Guardian of Bethel #4 Job's Daughters. He had been active in the Boy Scouts. He volunteered and was a valued member of Faith Lutheran Church."Every organization needs a George who is so willing and unselfish." He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Crichton; sons, J. Kelly Crichton of Albuquerque, and Patrick Crichton of Scottsdale, AZ; daughter, Catherine Crichton-Reed and husband, Rev. Ron Reed; sisters, Jane Crichton of Albuquerque and Grahame Coffee and husband, Jack of Arlington, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Being a loving man, he had many friends. He was a man of great integrity, and wry humor. He was a good man, loving husband, father and brother. He gave great joy and now goes to Great Joy, but will be missed by all he touched. In lieu of flowers, please consider giving blood that others may live. George's favorite charities are Shrine Crippled Children Transportation Fund, 6600 Zuni SE, Albuquerque, NM 87111, of Faith Lutheran Church, 10000 Spain NE, Albuquerque, NM 87111. Memorial Service will be held on April 5th at 3:00 p.m., Faith Lutheran Church, 10000 Spain NE, Albuquerque, NM. Sunrise Society of NM in charge of arrangements. 891-8200.
