Powers -- Chlorene Powers, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque passed away peacefully at her home in the arms of her loved ones on May 25, 2000. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hiram Powers, her father, Bill Darnold, brother, Billy Darnold, and sister, June Aldoff. She is survived by her daughter, Blanche Powers of Albuquerque and mother, Lena Darnold of Albuquerque and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind many dear friends. She filled so many lives with joy and love. She will be missed and remembered everyday. After she retired from Creamland Dairies, one of her great joys was cooking up something special for someone and her wonderful hospitality. She also enjoyed gardening and fishing. She was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2000 in the Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave SE. Pallbearers will be Leo Rizzo, Steve Rizzo, Jack Rizzo, Donald Hamm, Cecil Tucker, Listen Anderson. Honorary pallbearers are Oscar Thompson, Bob Hughes, Randy Harless, Harold Harter and Dusty Darnold. Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Park. Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave SE, in charge of arrangements.
