Finnigan -- Father Joyce Finnigan, 82, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on May 27, 2000. Father Joyce is preceded in death by his parents, William and Gertrude Finnigan. He became a Franciscian on August 15, 1937, he professed final vows on August 16, 1941. He was ordained as a priest May 31, 1946. He ministered in Kansas City, MO., Kansas City, Kansas, St. John, Roswell, N.M., Zuni, N.M., Dexter, N.M., Jemez, N.M., Holy Family Church, Albuquerque, Texico, N.M. He was a missionary in Juarez, Mexico, St. Teresa, Grants, N.M. He entered the nursing home at the Good Shephard Manor, Albuquerque, N.M. and then the St. Francis Gardens in Albuquerque. Father had been a resident at the St. Joseph Hospital from 1977-2000. Transfer of Father Finnigan will be Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. to Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW. Visitation will be Wednesday morning from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be the Franciscans. Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Rd SW in charge of arrangements.
