Bender -- Mary Louise (Reeser) Bender was born on January 9, 1925 in Joplin, MO to Malcom and Mary Reeser. She moved to Albuquerque in 1969 with her family. She sang with the Symphony Chorus, the Albuquerque Civic Chorus, and in the Chancel Choir of the First United Methodist Church. Her great loves in her life were: her family, classical music (especially opera), her roses, and baseball (especially her Chicago Cubs). She volunteered her time, first at the UNM Hospital newborn nursery, and later at the St. Joseph's Hospital Northeast. Mary died on April 30th surrounded by her family. She is survived by Lynn Bender; her sons, Mark Bender and wife, Scone of Newport, Washington, Gary Bender and wife, Susan of Tijeras, NM; daughters, Marilyn Large and husband, James of Albuquerque, and Rita Garcia and husband, Victor of Albuquerque. Her grandchildren are Willow Fodor and husband, Luke of Chicago, IL, Esther Bender of Spokane, WA, Colin, Nathan and Scott Large of Albuquerque, Kari Garcia of Albuquerque, and Whitney Bender of Tijeras, NM. She is also survived by her sisters, Betty Carmain and husband, Harold of Escondido, CA, and Dorothy Thomas of Mesquite, TX. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial gathering for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, may 3rd at the family home, 3816 Palo Duro NE from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Memorial donations can be made to St. Joseph's Auxiliary, 4701 Montgomery NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109, Albuquerque Youth Symphony Program, P.O.
