Seim -- Russell D. Seim, 43, died Sunday morning, April 23, at Lovelace Hospital after a long battle with Muscular Dystrophy. Rusty, as he was affectionately known by family and friends, was born in Houston, Texas. After the death of his mother, the family moved to Taos in 1976, where they owned and operated a Country Inn for four years. Rusty worked at the Inn until the onslaught of Muscular Dystrophy which limited his physical ability for the balance of his life. Subsequent to Taos, Rusty lived with his family in Santa Fe for 12 years and the rest of his life in Albuquerque. A lifelong Presbyterian, Rusty, his brother, Norman III and father, Norm, joined Immanuel Presbyterian Church in 1991. Rusty is survived by his parents, Norm and Marcia Seim; an aunt and uncle, Barbara and Mark Campbell of Dallas; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Norman III; and his uncle, Rudd G. Seim. He had a host of friends who knew him as a kind and loyal person to all he encountered. A Memorial service for Russell is scheduled for Tuesday, April 25 at 2:00 p.m., at Immanuel Presbyterian Church at Carlisle and Central. A reception for friends follows at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appropriate to the Immanuel Presbyterian Church Elevator Fund. Sunrise Society is serving the family of Mr. Seim, (891-8200).
