Stromberg -- Thomas Daniel Stromberg, born May 5, 1953, in Albuquerque, died April 17 in a traffic accident in San Mateo, CA. Tom's charismatic personality brought spirit, creativity, adventure, and a sense of fun to both his family, and hundreds of devoted friends in San Mateo and San Francisco, CA; and Seattle, WA. Tom leaves behind a distinguished career in Information Systems, mostly recently serving as CIO for Walmart.com. He held similar positions in banking and retail services, but more than anything, Tom was a totally dedicated family man. He leaves behind Louis, his beloved wife of 17 years; his sons, John and Michael; and his daughter, Katherine. He will be missed by colleagues, by children at Park School, St. Matthew's Episcopal Day School, and Serra High School in San Mateo. No child was without a playmate if Tom was nearby and the Stromberg home was a constant center of action, sports and play, always open to friends and visitors. Tom attended St. Pius X High School and the University of New Mexico. Tom is also survived by his parents, Patricia and Robert; sisters, Mary, Ann and Marcella (Albuquerque); brother, Mark (Carmel Valley, CA), Peter and James (Albuquerque), Paul (Portland); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph and John. A children's educational fund has been set up at Wells' Fargo Bank. Funeral will be held on Monday, April 24 at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Burlingame at 10:00 a.m. with a celebration of his life to follow at the parish hall. Burial will be Saturday, April 29, in Albuquerque, at 10:30 a.m. at Gate of Heaven Cemetery with a reception to follow.
