Smith -- Gayle Gladys Smith, 85, died peacefully on April 19, 2000. A resident of New Mexico since the early 60's, she was born and was a long term resident of the Western Slope of Colorado. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Harold (Slim) Smith. She is survived by her sister, Mary Ellen and Don Clark of Sun City West, AZ; her children, William (Bill) and Eunice Smith of New Castle, CO, Pat Phillips and Ann Gallegos of Albuquerque, Fred and Mabel Smith of Placitas, Rebecca (Becky) and Dave Dobbs of Manila, UT; her nine grandchildren and their children. The family would like to thank the staff at Los Palomas Nursing Center for their care and friendship over the last four years, as well as all of her friends for their continued care and concern. Cremation has taken place and a family memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Riverside Cremations & Burials, 224-2904.
