Markowitz -- Sanford (Sandy) S. Markowitz, 63 years old, died peacefully in his home on Saturday, April 15, 2000. He was a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico since 1959, and a former resident of Albany, New York. He is survived by his parents, Jack and Ida Markowitz of Albany, New York; his brother, Sid Markowitz and wife, Eileen of New Jersey; his sister, Helene Blanc of California; his son, Wess Markowitz and wife, Donna of Indiana; his son, David Markowitz, MD and Beatrice Mete of Albany, New York; two grandchildren, Jessica and Jennifer Markowitz of Indiana, and his long time companion, Beth Coe of Albuquerque, along with many other friends and relatives. He will be greatly missed by all those who loved him. Sandy was a graduate of Albany High School, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War era, an officer of the Paradise Hills Volunteer Fire Department, and was a district representative of the Duke City Singles. He was also a member of the AOK Aeromodelers of Kirtland and an active member of the Albuquerque ROMEOs. He retired from Sandia Corporation after thirty-four years of service. Cremation has taken place. Please contact Sandy's home for information regarding a memorial gathering. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the cancer charity of your choice.
