Saavedra -- Mrs. Mary Saavedra, 71, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away on April 15, 2000. Mrs. Saavedra was the beloved wife of 53 years to Mr. Felipe Saavedra. She is also survived by one daughter, Lorrey Saavedra; two sons, Felipe Saavedra and wife, Elizabeth, and Eugene Saavedra; two sisters, Tommie Rosas and husband, Ray and Lydia Gonzales and husband, Peter; six brothers, Julian Mendoza, Epitacio Mendoza and wife, Katie, Victor Mendoza and wife, Lita, Pilar Mendoza and wife, Lucy, Pedro Mendoza and wife, Mary, and Ralph Mendoza; 12 grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eloy and Ignacita Mendoza; and her son, Albert Saavedra. Mrs. Saavedra was a member of the Catholic Church, retired from A.P.S., devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and loved being with her family. A Rosary was recited Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Rd. SW. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning at the Ascension Catholic Church, 2150 Raymac SW, at 9:00 a.m. with visitation after 8:30 a.m. Father Sivila, Celebrant. Interment will follow in the Pajarito Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gabriel Saavedra, Luis Saavedra, Albert Saavedra Jr., Ignacio Saavedra, Arthuro Torres III and David Torres. Honorary will be, Jessica Saavedra. Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Rd. SW, in charge of the arrangements.
