Steele -- Harold Steele"Huggy Bear", 66, a resident of Albuquerque for 27 years, formerly of Findlay, OH, died Sunday, February 6, 2000. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lena Steele of the family home; daughter, Shauna Steele of Albuquerque; son, Scott Steele and wife, Noel of Alameda; granddaughter, Sabra Steele; sister, Eleanor Fellers and husband, Dr. Jon Fellers of San Diego, CA; and many other nieces and nephews. Mr. Steele was a loving husband, dad, grandfather, and great friend to all. He loved to fish with his daughter and granddaughter. Mr. Steele was a retired brick mason. He was a member of Heaven Bound Ministries Church. Mr. Steele loved the Lord and sang gospel music all his life. Services will be held Friday, 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Pastor Joe Cordero officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be Ozie Winters, Vernon Osborne, Darrol Lepper, Jeff Hamm, Shane Riggs and Richard Decker. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Thursday, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m."God saw you were getting tired and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you, and whispered,"Come with Me." With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you pass away. And though we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best." The family wishes to thank the many loving hands and hearts of UNMH Hospice; Presbyterian Hospice; and Heaven Bound Ministries during our time for Harold to make his journey to be with the Lord.
