Clark -- Ed Clark, devoted husband, loving father, and talented musician, passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 30, 2000. He was 69. Born Edwin P. Clark on February 5, 1930 in Detroit, he married Marian Carmichael on December 20, 1956. Ed and Marian were blessed with three children, Ralph, Kathy, and Phillip.Music was an integral part of Ed and Marian's marriage, and throughout their 43 years together Ed formed and participated in a number of choral and musical groups, among them the Ed Clark Singers. Ed's real passion, however, was to share his love of music with others, which he did until the very end. He and Marian spent their marriage sharing this passion with hundreds of students, being partners in vocation as well as in life. Ed was the type of teacher to take an active role in each of this student's lives, attending recitals and liberally offering words of encouragement. While Ed and Marian's students came to them for voice and music lessons, they went away with a love for both the art and the teachers.Ed is survived by his wife, Marian, of the home; sons, Ralph Clark, his wife, Vicki, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and their children: Phillip Clark and wife, Kim, of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Kathy Clark Arellano, her husband, Ben, of Idaho Falls, ID, and their children; brother, Ron Clark and his wife, Sharon, of Danvers, MA, and their children. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Clark Foundation at any Bank of America location, to help students who share Ed and Marian's passion for music. Viewing will be held Wed., Feb. 2, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. N.E. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 3, at Northdale Baptist Church, 123 Osuna, NW (2nd and Osuna) with burial to follow at 1:00 p.m. in Santa Fe.
