Ulibarri -- Josie M. Ulibarri, 83, a resident of Albuquerque for 37 years, was called home to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 4, 2000. She is survived by her son, Manuel E. Ulibarri and wife, Margaret of Albuquerque; daughters, Cecilia M. Mares and husband, Joe of Las Vegas, NM, Margaret L. Ortega and husband, Steve of Yuma, AZ and Sandra J. Gallegos and husband, Sam of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Manuel E. Ulibarri Jr. of Albuquerque, Bernadette N. Lupercio and husband, Carlos of Corcoran, CA, Carl G. Ulibarri and wife, Julee, Chris N. Ulibarri and wife, Marie, Eric G. Ulibarri, all of Albuquerque, Ronald J. Mares, Sharon D. Gonzales, Peter M. Mares, all of Las Vegas, NM, Jolene M. Mares of Socorro, Rhenea Ortega of Albuquerque, Christine Garcia and husband, Rodolfo of Kirkland, NM, Georgia Ortega of Albuquerque, Ruben Ortega of Yuma, AZ, Sammy E. Gallegos and Thomas A. Gallegos, both of Albuquerque; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; brother, Larry Valdez and wife, Mary of West Covina, CA; and sisters, Mary Valdez of California and Theresa Lucero and husband, Waldo of Albuquerque. Mrs. Ulibarri was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Ulibarri; daughters, Dolores Angie Ulibarri and Dolores Marie Ulibarri; brothers, Ruben Valdez, Clory Valdez and Andrew Valdez; and sister, Angie Valdez. She was a wonderful homemaker and especially enjoyed her embroidery. Rosary will be recited Friday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Peggy Valdez reciting. Mass will be celebrated Saturday, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 811 Guaymas Place NE, with Father Michael Cimino, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Manuel Ulibarri Jr., Ronald Mares, Carl Ulibarri, Chris Ulibarri, Eric Ulibarri, Sammy Gallegos, Thomas Gallegos and Ruben Ortega.
