Apodaca -- Mr. Fred M. Apodaca, 86, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on March 14, 2000. Mr. Apodaca was the beloved husband of 58 years to Mrs. Mary M. Apodaca. He is also survived by two daughters, Frances Apodaca and Mary Lita Baca and husband, John; four sons, Freddie Apodaca and Olivia, Ben Apodaca and wife, Lorraine, Charles Apodaca and wife, Rosemarie and Richard J. Apodaca and Cathy; one sister, Lilly Armijo; one brother, Vincente Apodaca Sr.; brother-in-law, Andy Montoya and wife, Tillie; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Albert Benjamin Apodaca. Mr. Apodaca was a member of the Catholic Church, a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. Being in the construction business, Fred helped build the church of the Ascension. He was also a Mayordome at San Andres in Los Padillas and a life member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited Thursday evening, 7:00 p.m., at St. Augustine Church in Isleta with visitation after 6:30 p.m. Charlotte Baca reciting. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning, 11:00 a.m., at St. Augustine Church with final viewing at the church after 10:30 a.m. Father Nick Nirschl, Celebrant. Interment will follow at the Los Padillas Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Enrico Apodaca, Charlie Apodaca, Jason Baca, Jon Paul Baca, Steve Apodaca and Vincent Apodaca Jr. Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Rd. SW, in charge of arrangements.
