Sanchez -- In loving memory of Louis Sanchez Sr., 59, a resident of Belen, passed away after a long illness on August 25, 2000. He was a church member of Our Lady of Belen. In Louis' younger days, he loved to be outdoors, where he could be fishing, camping, and hunting with his children alongside of him. He retired as a mason, handyman, jack of all trades, and master of none. Louis was preceded in death by his mother, Sally Montoya; and brother, Harold. He is survived by his wife, Patsy; his father, Valentine; brother, Peter; sister, Amadita; and seven children, Louie Jr. and Lillian, Rick and Sally, Robert and Anita, Shirley and Joseph, Roger and Annette, Jimmy and fiancee, Amber, Christina, all of Albuquerque; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his extended family; four sons; two daughters; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Louis is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Sunday, 1:00 p.m., at Romero Funeral Home followed by a Rosary at 2:00 p.m. Father Tom will officiate at the Funeral Mass on Monday, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Belen. Interment will follow at the Parish Cemetery. Pallbearers are Louie, Robert, Roger and Jimmy Sanchez, Mike, Orlando, Richard Lopez and Joey Gonzales. Romero Funeral Home, 609 N. Main St., Belen, NM.
