Groves -- Mary D'Arcy Groves was born in Santa Fe on July 12, 1914, to Emmett J. D'Arcy and Irma Davidson D'Arcy. She married her high school sweetheart, Donald J. Groves, a marriage that would last 51 years, until Don's death in 1983. A resident of Albuquerque for 70 years, she peacefully passed away Sunday, the Lord's Day, January 10, 2000. Mary was also preceded in death by her brothers, Lloyd, Jimmy and John D'Arcy; son-in-law, Donald Binkert; and daughter-in-law, Cathleen Groves. She is survived by her children, Alice Groves Binkert of Rio Rancho and Jack Groves and wife, Rebecca Lattanza Groves of Albuquerque. Other survivors include grandson, Steve Binkert; granddaughters, Christy Binkert Haddy and Kathy Binkert Udelhofen, Kelly Groves, Shannon Groves and Courtney Groves; and great-grandchildren, Jeff Glass, Christopher Haddy, Sean Haddy and Sarah Calvert; and great-great-grandson, Hunter Glass. One of the most caring people in this life, and a truly good person, she was deeply loved by her family and spoke only positive thoughts about others. She loved her north valley home by the river and its gardens, and was a devoted member of Saint Marks on the Mesa Episcopal Church. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at Saint Marks. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The Cathleen Groves Memorial Children's Library, c/o St. Marks Episcopal Church, 431 Richmond Pl. NE 87106.
