Chase -- John R. Chase passed away at age 51 in Santa Fe after a two year illness. He had recently returned to New Mexico. John was an Air Force veteran, having served in security in Japan and the States. He enjoyed many years involvement with ACLOA in Albuquerque and participated in New Mexico Search and Rescue during his Santa Fe years. He also worked for the Santa Fe Mervyn's before transferring to the Seattle store in the early 1990s. John was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Barbara Chase, former residents of Albuquerque. He is survived by brothers and sisters Pat, Mimi, and Robert of Santa Fe, Allen of Albuquerque, Michael, Tom, Cathy, Marilyn, Marcy, and Judy, and their spouses, his stepmother Marilyn Stickler Chase, stepbrothers and sisters Chris, Tim, Mike, Kathleen, Terry, Danny, Sheila and their spouses, Aunt Bernice Adams and cousin Diane Chase of Albuquerque, and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. A memorial and open house will be held Saturday from 6 to 10pm at 2079 Calle Lorca in Santa Fe. Friends are invited to come together in celebrating his life. Memorial mass was celebrated in Albuquerque on December 16. Special thanks to the thoughtful staff of Odyssey Hospice, for their generous and caring support.
