Thorp -- Phylliss Montgomery Thorp, 61, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2001 in Albuquerque. She was born June 30, 1940 and was a former resident of Amarillo. Funeral Services will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at San Jacinto Baptist Church with Dr. Stan Coffey, pastor officiating. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage St. Amarillo, TX. Mrs. Thorp was born in Mountain Park, OK. She moved to Albuquerque in 1995 from Amarillo. She owned and operated Family Portrait Studio and Salon LeSainte in Albuquerque. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She married Weldon Thorp in 1957 at Frederick, OK. Survivors include her husband of the home; one daughter, TaLaisa Tucker of Albuquerque; one sister, Eldora Lewis of Ridgecrest, CA; four brothers, Preston Montgomery, Jim Montgomery and Ebb Montgomery all of Amarillo and Billy Montgomery of Minnesota; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Presbyterian Hospice of Albuquerque or the Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Center in Amarillo.
