Broten -- Jens Robert Broten, 87, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2002 in Albuquerque. Mr. Broten was born on May 13, 1914 to Fred and Zelda Broten in Prairie Farm, WI. He worked for the Iron Workers for 33 years until retiring in 1973. He moved to Kirtland in 1965 and lived there until moving to Albuquerque in 1990 where he lived until passing away. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mae Broten; and 11 brothers and sisters. survivors include his two sons, Gary Broten and wife, Margaret of Albuquerque, Larry Broten and wife, JoAnn of Bloomfield; daughter, Linda Broten of California; sister, Doris Jean of Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Polly Rodriquez of California, Bert and Jens Broten of Albuquerque and Kevin Broten of Bloomfield; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 5, 2002 at Brewer, Lee & Larkin Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Bob Newton. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jens, Bert, and Kevin Broten. Arrangements are with Brewer, Lee & Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St. Farmington. 325-8688.
