Torres -- Rita Torres, 99, went home to be with the Lord on March 14, 2002 in Albuquerque, NM. She is survived by her seven children: sons, Lino Torres and his wife Kate, Jerry Torres and his wife Bonnie. Daughters, Rose and her husband Louie Martinez, Helen and her husband Ray Martinez, Viola Chavez, Libby Marquez, Virginia and her husband Louie Saiz. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, 9 great, great-grandchildren, and 22 step-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Visitations will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2002 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. in the Stover Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, March 17, 2002 at St. Therese Catholic Church at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 18, 2002 also at St. Therese Catholic Church at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Services are in the care of Garcia Mortuary 717 Stover Ave. S.W. 243-5222.
