Hunt -- Kathryn M. Hunt, age 88 of Gatlinburg, died Thursday, March 14, 2002. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward E. Hunt. She came from Wisconsin to Gatlinburg in 1933 to work at Rocky Waters Inn for her Aunt. She met "Mountainman" Ed Hunt and was married for 66 years, traveling the world over as the wife of an Air Force career officer. She held executive positions in Military Wives Organizations while enduring the numerous moves around the country, with three kids in tow, running, buying, and selling homes. After Ed retired, they had an association with Iowa Wesleyan University and Memphis State University. Finally returning to Gatlinburg in 1969, she continued her involvement in civic and military wives organizations, especially the American Legion Auxiliary in Gatlinburg, serving in every position, including Unit President. A big supporter of the Veterans at Mountain Home and the Special Olympics, she also sponsored children at the Smoky Mountain Children's home. Beloved Mom, supreme homemaker, creative clothier to four generations, masterchef of southern recipes, as well as ethnic foods, pastry chef to hundreds, witty, caring and loving, you have inspired the lives of many.
