Lovato -- Thomas M. Lovato, 88, passed peacefully from this life on Saturday, March 16, 2002. He is preceded in death and is now welcomed home by his wife, Stella Lovato; son, Fred Lovato; and daughter, Florence Luna. He is survived by his grandson, Landan Lovato; granddaughter, Leslie Luna Shaw and husband, Kelly; great-granddaughters, Caitlin Florence Shaw and Elycia Ravae Lovato; sisters, Tina Cohn, Rose Anderson and husband, Andy; brothers, Julio Lovato and wife, Doris, Tony Lovato and wife, Evelyn, David Lovato; and his brother, Bennie Lovato who preceded him in death. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and numerous friends. Tom, started in the trucking business, but soon discovered his destiny was in the bar business. He and his wife were more successful than they imagined and the bar business became Tom's passion for more than 40 years. After a brief retirement to care and devote himself to his terminally ill wife, he re-opened one of his earliest ventures, the Turf Lounge, and continued to operate it into his eighties. He was a persistent and tireless man who believed in staying busy and always taking care of his family."Dada" you will be greatly missed. Rosary will be recited, Wednesday, March 20, 2002, 6:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd. NE. Mass will be celebrated, Thursday, March 21, 2002, 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tom Anderson, Gary Anderson, Kenny Anderson, Michael Lovato, Benjie Lovato and J.P. Lovato. Honorary Pallbearers are John Baca, Nick Lovato and Kent Lovato.
