Montoya -- Stella Montoya, 79, went home to be with the Lord on March 19, 2002 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born on March 22, 1922 in Madrid, NM. Mrs. Montoya is preceded in death by her daughter Mary Montoya, son, Martin Montoya; and sister, Arnulfa Aguilar. She is survived by her husband, Harry Montoya of Bernalillo, NM; four sons, Robert Montoya and wife, Ann, David Montoya and wife, Theresa, Albert Montoya and wife, Kim and Anthony Sandoval and wife, Linda; four daughters, Harriet Goddard and husband, Bill, Gloria Montoya, Betty Montoya and Christine Imperial; one brother, John Perea; four grandchildren that she raised Robert Gutierrez, Carlos Imperial, Frankie Imperial and Mia Imperial; 29 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren. Stella will be deeply missed by her loving family. A Rosary will be recited on Friday evening at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo, NM at 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday also at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery in Bernallilo. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Tony Goddard, David Montoya Jr., Marty Trujillo, Daniel Montoya, Robert Gutierrez and Carlos Imperial. Honorary Pallbearers will be all remaining grandchildren. Services are in the care of Garcia Mortuary 717 Stover Ave. S.W. 243-5222.
