Mcdermott -- Lawrence McDermott passed away March 22, 2002 at the Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces, NM at the age of 80. Born to William and Adie McDermott on April 7, 1921 in Iowa. Served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps during World War II."Bud" enjoyed camping and fishing and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post # 1389 in Elephant Butte, NM. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Jessie McDermott of T or C, NM; four sons, James McDermott and wife, Linda of MacIntosh, NM, Boyd McDermott and wife, Terry, of Tacoma, WA, Johnny McDermott and wife, Thea, of Albuquerque, NM and Malcolm McDermott of Albuquerque, NM; two daughters, Sharon Arndt and husband, Bryan, of Albuquerque, NM and Hazel McDermott of Elephant Butte, NM; one sister, Aletha Renfor and husband, Edwin, of Albuquerque, NM; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He is further survived by three step-sons, Larry, Kent and Sam; and one step-daughter, Dixie. No services are planned at this time. Arrangements are under the care of Sierra Crematory and Sierra Funeral Home.
