Ozmina -- Ronald M. Ozmina passed away on April 8, 2002. Mr. Ozmina was born November 13, 1945 in Albuquerque. He loved sports, especially basketball. He graduated from St. Pius High School in 1963, attended New Mexico State University and worked summers for the US Forest Service. In 1964, he joined the New Mexico National Guard and was honorably discharged from the Alaska National Guard in 1970. In 1968, he moved to Alaska and was employed by the BLM specializing in Fire Management & Safety. In the late '80's, he was employed by the state of Alaska. He owned and operated a charter boat business for waterfowl hunters. He loved the outdoors, especially big game hunting for bear, moose and mountain sheep. His summers were filled with fishing trips with friends & family. He trained his black Labradors (Cara and Shooter) for field trials and bird hunting. He was an excellent cook and many winter evenings were spent with friends enjoying New Mexican food. Mr. Ozmina returned to New Mexico in 1991. He became a realtor and also worked in the transportation industry. Mr. Ozmina was preceded in death by his father and mother, Joseph & Betty Ozmina; his sister, Geraldine; and his brother, David. A Funeral Mass will be held for Mr. Ozmina on Thursday April 25, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church at the corner of Lomas & Tennessee.
