Hicks -- Rachel (Gallegos) Hicks, 62 a resident of Albuquerque for 31 years passed away Friday, June 7, after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, David of Albuquerque; sons, Koury Hicks of Albuquerque, Neal Gallegos of Milpitas, CA, and Michael Gallegos and wife, Stephanie of Albuquerque; grandson, Taylor Gallegos of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Karessa Gallegos of Albuquerque; mother, Mary Gonzales of Albuquerque; sisters, Odelia Gonzales of Albuquerque and Bertha Melendez and husband, Abel of El Paso, TX. Rachel was an LPN and had worked the past 11 years for Albuquerque Manor. She was"Nurse of the Year" in 1999. She had a deep commitment to her job and a passion for providing care to her patients. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends and patients. Memorial Services will be held at French Mortuary Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE on Monday, June 10, 2002 at 12:00 noon. Cremation will follow Services.
