Herrera -- A Prayer Service for Benito"Benney" Herrera, 67, of San Patricio will be Thursday, July 25, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Jude's Catholic Church where the Funeral Mass will be on Friday, July 26, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Jude's Catholic Church with the Rev. Alfred Galvin and Rev. Dave Bergs officiating. Benny died Tuesday, July 23, 2002 in Albuquerque. He was born August 30, 1934 at San Patricio to Elisa and Manuel Herrera who both preceded him in death. He retired from General Electric in Albuquerque in 1994 and moved to San Patricio. He was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church. He married Josie Chavez on July 16, 1954 at Ruidoso. He is survived by his wife, Josie of San Patrico; two sons, Frank Herrera of Roswell and Randy Herrera and his wife, Marie of Albuquerque; four daughters, Yvonne Sanchez and her husband, Reyes of San Patrico, Sylvia Gonzales and her husband, Gilbert of Ruidoso Downs, Kimberly Gutierrez and her husband, Lenard of Edgewood and Loretta Gallegos and her husband, Leroy of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Bethany and Christina Sanchez, Robert, Mikaila and Nathan Gonzales, Eris, Irene and Xavier Gutierrez, Alyssa, Andrea and Randy Herrera Jr. and Jude and Julian Gallegos. He was preceded in death by a brother, Benjamin Herrera. Arrangements are under the direction of LaGrone Funeral Chapel, 341 Sudderth Dr., Ruidoso, NM 88345, 505-257-7303.
