Wimpy -- Charles E. Wimpy (Chuck), 64, a resident of Edgewood, died Thursday, August 8, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Betty; sons, Michael and wife, Amy, of Edgewood and Jefferey and wife, Tricia, of Denver; brothers, Ken and wife Pat, Ed and wife Cathy, all of Aztec, NM, Lindel and wife Doris, of Junction City, Oregeon, and Bill and wife, Shirley, of Arlington, Texas; mother, Pauline Elder of Aztec, NM; and numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, and nieces. Charles was preceded in death by his father, William A. Wimpy. Chuck was born in Elk City, Oklahoma and was veteran of the United States Army. He was Service Manager for Wimpy Chevrolet Co. in Aztec and owned his own business, C & C Auto Repair in Aztec. He was a member of the Aztec City Commission and served as Mayor of Aztec in the 1970's. For a time, Mr. Wimpy was a member of the Mounted Patrol of the State of New Mexico. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. , Monday, August 12, 2002, at the Believer's Center of Albuquerque, 320 Waterfall Dr. SE, with Pastors Marshall Townsley and John Ross, officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Friends may visit French Mortuary - Lomas Chapel, Sunday, August 11, 2002 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Arrangements by French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE.
