Walkup -- Robert"Bob" Walkup, 73, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2002 at home with his loving family by his side. Even though cancer took its toll on his life, we are comforted in knowing that the big"C"in his life was Christ not cancer. He served his country in the United States Air Force and later retired from the Federal Aviation Administration. After his retirement he enjoyed his little farm and was actively involved in the Silver Saints Ministry at Calvary Chapel. He is survived by his wife, Betty; and four sons, Tom and his wife, Maureen, Bob and his wife, Kathy, Jim and his wife, Linda, and Russell. In addition, Bob loved and was loved by his grandchildren, Nikki and her husband, Ben, Matt and his wife Jill, Josh, Elizabeth, Greg, Rachel; and great-grandson Will, who was just getting to know him. He is also survived by his sister, Daphne Austin of Dalhart, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held at Calvary of Albuquerque on Monday, September 23, 2002, at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Skip Heitzig officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Junior High Camp Fund at Calvary, 4001 Osuna Rd. NE, 87109 or New Mexico Boys and Girls Ranch, Inc., 6209 Hendrix Rd. NE, 87110.
