Fails -- Leota Faye Fail, 82, a resident of Albuquerque, died at her home on October 8, 2002. Mrs. Fails was an elementary school teacher for over 40 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, G.Y., and is survived by daughters, Cee Kaye Nation and her husband Brad; grandsons, Christopher and Navarre, Nikki Fodge and her husband Clif, Chris and Nick, Gari Fails and her special friend Mike Walker; brother, Joe Delk; and niece, Mary Loyd. Mrs. Fails, a pilot in WWII, served in the U.S. Women's Air Corp. A graveside service was held at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe. Because of her commitment to teaching, a teacher education scholarship has been established in her name at Eastern New Mexico University.
