Butler -- Howard"Buzz" Orville Butler, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2002. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Louise Butler of Albuquerque; son, Raymond Tuley of Los Angeles, CA; brothers, Ben Butler of Riverside, CA and Bob Butler of Peoria, IL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Olive Louise Butler in August 1998. Howard, known as Buzz to his friends and family, was born in Peoria on August 16, 1914. He served in the Army Air Force during WWII where he was responsible for calibrating the Norden Bombsite on B17 and B24 flights. He served in many battles and campaigns, which resulted in his numerous medals, including the Distinguished Unit Badge. Until his retirement in 1975, he worked at Kirtland AFB in the Precision Instruments Lab. He was multi-talented, building his home, singing in a quartet in the church pastured by his father, and receiving much recognition for his innovative ideas. His quick wit and humor will be greatly missed. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 30, 2002, 11:00 a.m., at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE, with Pastor James Wilburn officiating. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Wednesday, October 30, 2002, 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
