Daby -- Robert L. December 22, 1921 - November 1, 2002 Retired Navy, Aviation Ordinance Chief. Survivor of the U.S.S. Lexington CV-2 when sunk on May 8, 1942 in the Battle of the Coral Sea. Retired Technical Writer for Dynalectron, AVC, and BDM corporations. A 32nd Degree Mason with the Shriners and a member of the Shrine Band (base drum). Married and resided in Albuquerque, NM since 1959 with wife, Crucita (deceased 1998) and three daughters. He passed away at Presbyterian Anna Kaseman Hospital of heart attack and complications. He is survived by his granddaughter and caregiver, Sabrina Busico, daughters, Juanita Busico, Roberta Daby-Chavez, and Laura Daby-Anderson, and son-in-law, Jon Anderson. Other gandchildren include Nicholas Anderson, Natasha Anderson, Michael Chavez, and Victor Chavez. Great-grandchildren include Benjamin Chavez and Cacia Chavez. He was a loving father and grandfather and will truly be missed by family and friends. Details of funeral arrangements, locations, and times pending and will be posted in next Sunday's Journal.
