Mendez -- Maria Del Socorro Rojas Mendez, age 76, and a resident of Albuquerque for 31 years, died, October 31, 2002. Survivors include her daughters, Maria R. Mendez of Albuquerque, Martina E. Fuentevilla of Bosque Farms, Josie M. Tafoya of Albuquerque, and Norma F. Hopkins of Phoenix; son, Victor G. Mendez of Albuquerque; she is also survived by five sisters and two brothers all of Mexico; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Roy Moya, Joe Tafoya, Sandra Vigil, Juan Fuentevilla and Mark Sanchez for their continual support of Maria. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2002 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary 5415 Fortuna Rd. NW. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 7, 2002 also at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary. Strong-Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Ave. SE is handling her arrangements.
