King -- Elbridge Gerry King, 85, a resident of Placitas, New Mexico, for 12 years and formerly of Middletown and Howells, NY, died on Friday, December 6, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Doris King of La Vida Llena Retirement Center, Albuquerque, NM, where they resided for the past 2 years. He is also survived by 3 children, twins, son, Dana G. King and wife, Susan, of Middletown, NY, and daughter, Betsy K. Horkovich and husband, James, of Placitas, NM, daughter, Amy Gilroy and husband, Joseph, of Middletown, NY; grandchildren, Andrew King, Dr. Melanie Kolacy, Joseph Gilroy, Catherine Gilroy, Brenda Fediuk and Robin Bjorn; great grandchildren, Kirstin and Rachel Bjorn; and nieces, Sue Brewington of Grand Junction, CO and Linda Castrone of Denver, CO. Elbridge founded Prior King Press, Inc. in 1956. He was a lifetime member of Mid Hudson Club of Printing House Craftsmen. He was also a life member of Hoffman Lodge #412 F. & A.M. He served as Chairman of Trustees of Congregational UCC of Howells, NY. Elbridge was church administrator of Bernalillo United Methodist Church of Bernalillo, NM and presently a member of WHEAT Fellowship of the Faithful. He was an Ensign in the U.S. Navy Reserves and a flight instructor for Army Air Cadets during WWII. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, on Sunday, December 8, 2002 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Services will be held Monday, December 9, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, with Chaplain Norton Scrimshire officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Park.
