Navarro -- Pete Navarro, born October 10, 1913 in Mexico, was called to his Eternal home on December 8, 2002. Uncle Pete will be home for Christmas where he will be celebrating his Lord and Saviors' birthday. Pete migrated to Texas at the age of 14. He traveled from Texas to Arizona and California, finally settling in Albuquerque where he met and wed his wife, Elvira who preceded him in death in 2000. He was a chef for Fred Harvey for many years. He owned and operated several restaurants, the last being Taco Sombrero, from which he retired. Pete was a man of great faith and enjoyed sharing biblical stories. He enjoyed attending the Spanish Mass at Queen of Heaven and La Misa de Los Immigrantes at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He is survived by nieces, Sylvia Lucero and Florence Garcia; his caregiver, Michael Lucero; sisters-in-law, Ruby Gallegos and Amarita Francia; and brothers-in-law, Ismael and Todosio Jaramillo. A Rosary will be recited at 10:15 a.m. on Friday in the small Chapel of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna NW, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. with Deacon Juan Barajas presiding. Cremation has taken place and Interment of Pete and Elvira will be in Carnuel, New Mexico..
