Newman -- Mary Newman, age 76, of Friendship, WI died Wednesday, December 18, 2002 at the Villa Pines Living Center in Friendship. Funeral Services were held Saturday, December 21, 2002 at Roseberry's Funeral Home. Interment was at the Melvina Cemetery, Monroe County, Wisconsin. Mary was born May 15, 1926 to Francis and Katherine (Bruckler) Newman in Bristol, PA. She earned a master's degree in elementary education and taught grade school education. Mary also worked as a secretary in Chicago and in Westfield at the Screnock Law Office where she was responsible for instituting many of the procedures that are still being used to this day. Mary loved music-she was an accomplished pianist and became an opera singer after many years of practice. Mary was blessed with the opportunity to travel and saw many different parts of the world. Mary was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her brother, Vincent Newman Moriarty, NM; sisters, Evelyn Lewis, Albuquerque, Elsie Screnock Adams, WI; brother, Edward Newman, Albuquerque; many nieces and nephews; Roseberry's Funeral Home of Friendship assisted the family.
