Lucero -- George M. Lucero, 92, a lifetime resident of Bernalillo, died Friday, March 16, 2001. He is survived by his daughters, Viola Georgina Chavez and husband, Frank of Bernalillo, Theresa Mascarenas and Daniel Montoya of Bernalillo; sister, Sara Montoya of Bernalillo; grandchildren, Mark Chavez and wife, Nikki, Tommie Rose Chavez, Frances B. Garcia and husband, Johnny, and Jessica Mascarenas; great-grandchildren, Issac Chavez, J. D. Garcia and Alexis Garcia; and special caregiver, Bertha Velasquez of Bernalillo. He was preceded in death by his wife Tommy Lucero in March 1967. Rosary will be recited on Sunday at 6:00 p.m. at our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, Bernalillo, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, Bernalillo, NM, with Fr. Virgil Furfaro, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery, Bernalillo, NM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 1330 San Pedro NE, Suite 205, 87110.
