Gentry -- Mrs. Ruby Ellen Gentry of Harrisonville, Missouri was born June 29, 1920 at Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of Louis and Goldie (Brown) Fay. She departed this life Sunday, September 2, 2001 at Crown Care Center, Harrisonville at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 3 days. On August 21, 1942, Ruby was united in marriage to Leonard Merril Gentry in Bryan, Texas. Ruby was a homemaker. She was a member of Fruit Avenue Baptist Church, Albuquerque, New Mexico and had lived in Albuquerque before moving to Harrisonville in 1993. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, L.M. in August of 1980, an infant daughter, and four brothers; Glenn, Burnise, Louis, and Leo Fay. She is survived by a son, Robert L. Gentry and his wife, Belinda of Harrisonville, Missouri; two grandsons, Brian and Kevin Gentry; other relatives and friends. Services will be at Sunset Memorial Park Friday, September 10, 2001 at 9:30 a.m. In Sunset Mausoleum. Mrs. Gentry has been entrusted to the care of Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle Blvd NE.
