Rudolph -- Joe Nicanor Rudolph, born May 5, 1952 in Las Vegas, NM, passed away at his Albuquerque residence on June 11, 2001, following a valiant struggle with lung cancer. He is survived by his beloved children, Jessica and Joseph, of Albuquerque; mother, Maria LeDoux Rudolph of Las Vegas, NM; sister, Ruth Anne Padrick of Livermore, CA; sister, Dolores I. Rudolph and companion Charles Crews of Las Vegas, NM; brother, Thomas D. Rudolph and companion, Michele Espinoza of Las Vegas, NM; nieces, Jennifer Padrick, Denise Barela, and Trish Rudolph; and many friends. Joe's father, Joe Nicanor Rudolph, Sr., passed away on March 27, 1986. Joe grew up in Las Vegas, NM. He earned a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering in 1974 at New Mexico State University, and worked for Hughes Aircraft in Culver City, CA and the Air Force Contract Management Division (AFCMD) at Kirtland AFB, NM prior to his 1985 hire by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Joe was a Manufacturing Engineer and Cost Monitor Specialist for AFCMD, earned an MBA degree in 1981 from New Mexico Highlands University, and worked as a Project and Program Manager for DOE. Joe's too-short life was nonetheless a joyous one. He knew that his love for his children, family, and friends did not go unreciprocated. Joe had his hobbies but took his greatest pleasure in just spending time with his family and friends. He was perhaps happiest when he was helping someone. His desire to help people extended to people he did not and would not know. He devoted more than twenty years of his life and countless hours of volunteer service to IMAGE, a nonprofit Civil Rights organization dedicated to promoting and protecting employment, educational, and other rights of Hispanics and other minorities. Joe further served his community through the March of Dimes, to include a stint as Chairman, and through work for the United Way through DOE's Corporate Loan Program. Our brother, Joe, was a deeply religious person and will be greatly missed. He was affiliated with and worshipped at Church of the Risen Savior and Prince of Peace in Albuquerque. A Rosary will be recited in Albuquerque on Wednesday, June 13, 2001, 7:00 p.m. at Prince of Peace. A second Rosary will be recited in Las Vegas, NM on Thursday, June 14, 2001 at 7:00 p.m at Immaculate Conception Church. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church on Friday, June 15, 2001 with interment to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Las Vegas, NM. Pallbearers will be Eliud Vigil, Walter Vigil, David Roybal, Celedon Aragon, Edmund Trujillo, and Gene Lopez. Honorary Pallbearers are Jim Sweeney, Benton Dwight, Blue Huber, Dan Romero, Louie Martinez, and Dan Sanchez. Friends may visit on Wednesday, June 13, 2001 from 4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd N.E.
