Mott -- Maurice K. Mott, Lt. Col. USAF, Ret., 82, a 30-year resident of Albuquerque, died September 19, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Louise Mott of the family home; sisters, Donna Turney and husband, John of Alamogordo, Gloria Wuckert and husband, Don of Alamosa, CO, Carol Mott of Canon City, CO, Marilyn Oberrick and husband, Jack of Alamosa, CO, Kathleen Jefferson and husband, Jay of Grand Junction, CO, Joyce Foote and husband, Bob of Alamosa, CO, and Jeannie Brandis and husband, John of Flagstaff, AZ; brother, Dr. Joseph Mott of Chandler, AZ; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Elsie Mott and brothers, Lyman Mott and Winfred Mott. Col. Mott served in the Army Air Force during WWII in the 817th Squadron. His crew flew a B-17 to Italy with the Air Echelon. He also flew P-51s and P-47s in Germany and was assigned to the Pentagon, Air Rescue and NATO. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with Three Oak Leaf clusters, Meritorious Service Medal, American Defense Ribbon, Army of Occupation Ribbon and Medal, National Defense Ribbon and Medal, WWII Victory Medal, and European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal. Col. Mott retired April 30, 1971 and afterwards enjoyed golf, oil painting and attending 483rd Bomb Group (H) reunions. Services will be held Monday, September 24, 2001, 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Chaplain Lemuel Boyles, Col. USAF, Ret. officiating. Interment will take place at 1:30 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Sunday, September 23 2001, 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 1330 San Pedro, Suite 205, 87110.
