Dixon -- Phillip Allen Dixon, born April 2, 1939 in Detroit, MI passed away September 18, 2001 in Albuquerque, NM. He was the eldest of 3 sons to Logan and Letha May Lampart Dixon. He grew up in Ohio and graduated from Twinsburg High School in 1958. He went into the Army, serving several tours in Germany and Korea, retiring as a Sgt., after 20 years. On one of his tours to Germany he met Monika Erhart whom he was married to for 25 years, before divorcing. After his retirement from the Army, he worked as an office manager for the Control Data/Ceridian Corp in Rosslyn, VA for 16 years. In 1984 he moved to Albuquerque and started a new career in health care. He worked at the Albuquerque Manor Nursing Facility and earned his CNA while there. He then worked for Heritage Healthcare Systems. He formed a very special bond with everyone he met and especially with Albert Montoya, for whom he cared for for the last five years. Mr. Dixon is survived by his brothers, David Dixon of Parma, Ohio and Thomas Dixon of Biloxi, MS; two nephews; a niece; many other family members and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Aquinas Newman Center, on UNM Campus, 1815 Los Lomas Road NE, Albuquerque, NM on Saturday, October 13, 2001 at 1:00p.m. A reception will follow. If you choose, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Dominicans, or a charity of your choice. Cremation arrangements were by the Sunrise Society of NM, 891-8200
