Waddy -- George H. Waddy, Jr., 78, died on Sunday, May 13, 2001 in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. George was born February 26, 1923 the son of George and Minnie Helen Waddy in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. George was a pioneer in the American Space Program. He worked on every manned space project and served as Chief of Electrical Standards for the Apollo Spacecraft's Environmental System. He received many awards and accolades including Engineer of the Year at Hughes. He also had been a 32nd Degree Mason. His greatest gift to his children, was to teach them tolerance and understanding. He was a kind and gentle man and will be missed. George was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth. He is survived by his son, George, and wife, Cheryl and their children, Alison and Michael of Rio Rancho, and daughter, Leslie Cork and husband, Chris and their children, Ryan, Patrick, Sean, and Kelly of Albuquerque. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho, followed by Innichment in the Floral Garden Mausoleum.
