Hendrix -- Ralph E. Hendrix, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away Monday, May 17, 1999. He was eighty-four years of age. Mr. Hendrix was born on November 20, 1914, on a farm near Humboldt, Nebraska. Life on the farm was a great way of life for him. His education began in a one-room schoolhouse. He came to Albuquerque in 1943. He married Sibyl McCulloch in 1945 in Arnett, Oklahoma. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Mr. Hendrix was a carpenter by trade and construction superintendent. During the 50's, he moved his family back to a Nebraska farm. After seven years, they returned to Albuquerque. Supervisor of the packaging department at Sandia National Labs, he retired in 1980. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Albuquerque and the Two-Som Sunday School Class, and had completed five years of courses in Bible Study Fellowship. Mr. Hendrix was designated a lifetime member of the Master Gardeners of Albuquerque, as well as a lifetime member of the American Legion, Post #269 of Humboldt. Mr. Hendrix was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Beulah Hendrix; brother, Wayne Hendrix; and sisters, Lucille Gilbert and Elsie Hendrix. He is survived by his wife, Sibyl of the family home; daughters, Sibyl Jan Gragg and husband, Rob of Spokane, Washington, Linda Fern Fay and husband, Don of Oxnard, California, Edith Anne Hendrix of Albuquerque; son, Ralph Cray Hendrix and wife, Renee of Portales, New Mexico; six granddaughters, Heather Gragg, Jayme Housh, Danielle, Pamella, Susan, and Jeannine Hendrix; one grandson, Ralph Tristan Hendrix; sister, Helen Glathar and husband, John of Humboldt, Nebraska; brother, Robert Hendrix and wife, Dorothy of Mt. Hood, Oregon; sister, Marie Holt and husband, Don of Tulare, California; sister, Eunice Fass and husband, Wayne of Auburn, Nebraska; brother, Jim Hendrix and wife, Phyllis of Atwater, Ohio; brother, Lee Hendrix and wife, Carol of Omaha, Nebraska; and sister-in-law, Margaret Hendrix of Omaha, Nebraska; and numerous nephews and nieces. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held Friday, May 21, 1999, 2:00 p.m., at First United Methodist Church, 314 Lead Ave. SW, with Dr. Ira Williams officiating. Private interment of cremains will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, New Mexico. Honorary pallbearers will be the Two-Som Sunday School Class of First United Methodist Church. A reception will be held after the memorial service at the church parlor. Memorial gifts may be given to your own church choir in Ralph's memory so that music may be sung everywhere. Holt -- Margaret Lee Holt, 35, a resident of St. Charles, MO, died Wednesday, April 28, 1999. She is survived by her mother, Patt Holt; father, Jan Holt; sisters, Lynn and Jennifer, all of St. Charles, MO. Margaret was born May 8, 1963 in Albuquerque. She graduated from Duchesne High School in St. Charles, MO. She received a Bachelor's degree in business from the University of New Mexico and was a member of Alpha Chi Omega at UNM. Margaret completed her Master's in business administration at the University of California at Irvine. Graveside services will be held Saturday, 11:00 a.m., at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, with Deacon Bob Lewis officiating. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.

Myers -- Franklin Gearold Myers, age 90, died Tuesday, May 18, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Nadine Myers of the family home; daughter, Betty Lou Gatto, and husband, Donald of Albuquerque; son, Bob Myers and wife, Sherry of Tehachapi, CA; grandsons, Brady Womack and wife, Claire Goldstein, and Wayne Myers and wife, Leslie Petersen; granddaughters, Brenda Beck and husband, Philip, and Laura Wagner and husband, John; great-grandchildren, Ashlee Myers, Jayson Grover, Jacquelynn Grover, Shawna Grover, Jonathan Beck, Kingston Wagner and Mariah Wagner; and by his nephews, Gene Flowers and wife, Sandy and Buddy Flowers and wife, Cynthia, all of Rio Rancho. Mr. Myers was preceded in death by his sisters, Jewel Myers and Etolia Flowers. His family came West from Winslow, IN in 1923 and settled in Albuquerque in 1927. Mr. Myers retired from Sandia National Laboratories after working there for 15 years. Memorial graveside services will be held Saturday, 2:00 p.m., at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, with Dr. Charles Crutchfield officiating. Newsom -- Helen M. Newsom, 82, went peacefully to join her husband, Newt; and son, Jerry on May 4, 1999 in Peoria, AZ, where she lived the last few years. She and her family had resided in Albuquerque for 47 years. She leaves behind daughters, Linda Williamson, Sue Cassidy, and Robbie Springer; ten grandkids and four great-grandkids; one remaining sister, Irene Williams; and numerous other family members. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be May 21, 1999 at 1824 Pitt NE, 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. She will be greatly missed by her family.

Purtymun -- William D. (Bill) Purtymun, 72, a resident of Santa Fe for 33 years, died May 19, 1999, after a lengthy illness. He was born February 26, 1927 in Clemenceau, Arizona. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth of the family home; daughter, Ann Smith and husband, Bill of Albuquerque; sons, William F. Purtymun and wife, Paige of Los Alamos, and Kevin D. Purtymun and wife, Beverly of Los Alamos. He is also survived by grandchildren, Bryan Smith, Tyler and Hannah Purtymun, whom he loved very much; and his brother, Robert M. Purtymun of Manteca, CA; and nieces and nephews. Bill served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He worked for the USGS for 15 years and LANL for 22 years. He retired from LANL in 1990 as a geohydrologist. He will be missed tremendously by his family, friends and colleagues. Private cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Osage at 9:00 a.m., Monday, May 24, 1999. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Rasmussen -- Robert M. Rasmussen, 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 1993, died Monday, May 17, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Marian Rasmussen of the family home; two sons, Erik Rasmussen and wife, Elizabeth of Arlington, VA and Craig Rasmussen and wife, Maria Jose of Salinas, CA; and two grandchildren, Meghan and Hallie. Mr. Rasmussen was a U.S. Navy Intelligence veteran of WWII and Korean Conflict where he served as a Code Breaker. He loved to garden and to sail. Salas -- Lydia Salas, 48, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away May 18, 1999. Walsh -- Josephine V. Walsh, a resident of Albuquerque since 1971, passed away Tuesday, May 18, 1999. Mrs. Walsh's favorite pastime was playing Bingo at the various sites around Albuquerque. Her survivors include her son, Michael Walsh and wife, Jacqueline of Albuquerque; her grandson, Derek Walsh; and many friends and relatives.
